Our philosophy

We collect as little of your personal data as we are able, and share it as little as possible. We will never sell your data, and we choose third-party services very carefully to avoid tracking you. We do not engage in online targeted advertising.

The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details) - specifically your email address.
  • Information that you provide by filling in forms provided on this website for a specific purpose. By supplying this information you are consenting to ShelfCat holding and using it for the purposes for which it was provided.
  • If you contact us directly, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

The personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • For our business activities, including to operate the ShelfCat service and to provide you with the features and functionality of the service;
  • In order to keep you updated about our latest features and releases.
  • Technical support. We use data to diagnose product problems, and to provide other customer care and support services.
  • Improving our services. We use data to continually improve our website and application, including system administration, system security, and adding new features or capabilities.

We use the information that you have given us in order to email you about this product only, and share this information with buttondown.email in order to run the mailing list and Sentry to help us catch bugs and errors.

The legal basis for processing your personal data is that it is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests, where we have concluded that our interests do not impact inappropriately on your fundamental rights and freedoms, and/or your consent. You may ask us to explain our rationale at any time.

Your consent

You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us directly, or by unsubscribing from our mailing list. The link to do this will be at the bottom of your most recent email.
